
MANILA – Air Force Lt. Gen. Rommel Roldan has been appointed acting vice chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, replacing Marine Lt. Gen. Jimmy Larida who retired Wednesday.
The AFP announced the leadership change in a statement released late Wednesday night.
Roldan assumed his new responsibilities during a brief turnover ceremony conducted at Tejeros Hall inside the AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country Club in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. led the ceremony and recognized Larida for his dedication and valuable service to the military during his tenure.
Brawner also underscored the importance of the vice chief of staff position, describing it as a key role in ensuring the organization’s operations run efficiently.
He added that the Office of the Vice Chief of Staff AFP maintained strong performance under Larida’s guidance.
